FAQs

  • I only have a product idea, can you still help?
If you've got a concept yet are unfamiliar with the requirements and scope of work, we can help you. We help bring it to life through detailed research, locating your target audience, and business environment. Once this is done, we undergo extensive competitor analysis, configure the initial scope and technical requirements and then create a hypothesis. After getting a hypothesis, we create a prototype. This allows us to test the hypothesis, define the scope and then feel your idea. Based on the scope of your project, if we can freeze the requirements, we will deploy waterfall development. Similarly, if the scope is clear, but you want to make further improvements and changes, then we use an Agile model.
  • How long does it take to develop a web and mobile application?
The amount of time it takes to develop a custom web app varies, but we usually work with large, complex projects that can take up to several months for complex applications. Moreover, if the project requires both a web and mobile application, it will likely require additional time. Your implementation and turnaround periods vary in length based on the specifics of your company, the list of functions, and the number of experts that need to collaborate on your solutions. Our software development team can determine the approximate turnaround only after reviewing the project information of each client. When handling complex projects, our goal is to determine the basic features and requirements to have an MVP version ready in 3 to 4 months, while the rest of the platform is developed and fine-tuned gradually. We are also equipped to solve all additional problems that might appear during the working process, so we factor in the time for potential setbacks in our estimation.
  • Can you create the design for mobile/web app?
Of course, as a full-cycle design and development company, we do this regularly. Our approach is design-driven, helping build innovative and responsive mobile apps and websites. The team we have consists of leading and experienced design and development professionals.
  • Do I require any specifications/documents to start the development process?
If you have any UI designs, prototypes, descriptions, presentations, or similar resources, these can all contribute to the success of your project. Our business analysts and project managers study all the information available and help prepare your software requirements specification. In case you don’t have these materials, it may be best to go through a Discovery Phase process in order to determine the project vision, scope, documents, other resources, estimation, and other details.
  • What do I need to prepare before developing an application or system?
First off, you need to ensure that you have the necessary expertise in-house or partner with external experts to provide specialised knowledge and skills to develop your system. Once you have the right team in place, these specialists can help you follow the remainder of these steps. If you’re not sure where to start, you can always get in touch with Go Wombat and we’ll be glad to assist you. Now, to start preparing for your software development project, you have to conduct a risk assessment to identify potential vulnerabilities, risks, and threats. This assessment should include an evaluation of the system’s architecture, data flow, and access controls. Second, you have to establish security requirements and standards that your application or system must meet. These requirements should address all aspects of cybersecurity, including data privacy, access control, and encryption. Then, you need to integrate cybersecurity into your development processes, including security testing, code review, and compliance checks. Use secure coding practices and implement security controls at every stage of the development process. Finally, ensure that you have the necessary expertise in-house or partner with external experts to provide specialised knowledge and skills to develop your system. Our team has the technical skills to assess and overcome any technical challenges. We just need to know what role we play in supporting your business and our team will figure out the rest.
  • How do you select the right technology for my project?
Several things must be considered to choose the right technology for your project. First, we analyze and review your project to the micro-level to decide on the best technology. Factors like security, time to market, scalability, maintainability, cost, application performance, database structure, ecosystem, and more are considered.
  • What security standards do you adhere to?
We adhere to industry-standard security guidelines for all web applications to ensure you get the best level of security. Our methods prevent critical security flaws, covering SSL (HTTPS) for security sessions IDS and cookies. Data validation via an HTTP request to stop attacks like SQL injection, Cross-Site Scripting, log injection, and HTTP Response Splitting. We also undergo Server-side data validation as it can be modified. There are also frequent vulnerability scans run during the build and updates to your website/mobile app. If we feel there needs to be additional security, we offer on-demand audits done by a third party. All audits align with OWASP for web applications and PCI requirements for eCommerce solutions.
  • Do you sign an NDA and transfer intellectual property rights?
We sign an NDA for each project, which protects our clients from any misunderstandings and fears during our partnership. As per our agreement, we transfer all of the intellectual property rights to the client once all of the payments are completed. No additional actions are required. Our team can work directly on your infrastructure. This means that all the code and its effects are available for you to view and access at any given time. It gives you complete confidence that all project data is entirely yours.
  • How do we interact with the client during the project?
Unlike many companies, we are completely open to and actively encourage dialogue. We don’t like working without feedback, so we provide full access to our developers or specialists for clients. This ensures a lack of unnecessary formality and a more direct conversation, more so than with the average IT software company.
  • What does post-project support include?
We accompany and maintain your project at all stages of its life cycle, including post-launch support. Our team ensures that your platform receives the maintenance it needs to remain up and functional at all times. Can help you decide what type of technical support your platform needs and make sure it's available when you need it. Some of our partners even trust us to manage and maintain their software applications while their internal IT team takes time off or attends industry events. We provide extensive technical support depending on what your software needs to remain functional and transfer web resources or databases to new servers when necessary. Our team also sets up automated monitoring services, conducts additional manual evaluations, and instals esse security updates We can even import, export, or backup data and make sure that your software remains fully operational.
  • Will my applications or systems be scalable after development in the future?
Yes, all of the solutions we develop for clients are flexible and scalable as a result of using the latest technologies and best practices. We can even create modular solutions that can be adjusted, expanded, and updated relatively easily later on.
  • What custom software development solutions can be created?
One of the reasons why custom software has become so popular is that it’s flexible. Advanced experts, like the developers at Go Wombat, have the ability to create custom web or mobile applications with all types of features and capacities. This includes tools to manage your team, keep track of your company performance, improve your offerings, and accelerate internal processes. Even if you’re not sure how you need your software to work, you can contact our team, tell us what you want your software to do, and we’ll help you explore the best alternatives.
  • What is the process of custom software development?
The exact steps we need to take to create a custom piece of software vary tremendously. With that said, the path we follow can be summarised into a few general steps. These include: The introductory meeting Signing of the NDA and collection of documents If there is no documentation, we start the Discovery Phase If there is documentation available, we go straight into estimate preparation Once the parameters are set, we begin analysis and prototype creation Budget presentation and signing of the work agreement Development, testing, documentation, and launch of the application Finally, we maintain and support the project Want to know more details about our process? Get in touch with our team, we’re happy to book an appointment with you to go over our approach.
  • How much does custom software development cost?
As with the project turnaround, the cost of a custom development project varies depending on the industry, type of software built, functionalities, number of team members involved, and other factors. Furthermore, one of the biggest challenges with software development projects is adhering to the budget. That’s the reason why we usually go through a Discovery Phase before we start building solutions for our partners. During this process we evaluate all factors, including potential setbacks, and create an accurate map as well as a realistic turnaround estimate for your project.
  • How much time does it take to create an MVP?
It can take up to 3 to 4 months, if not more, to build a minimum viable product or MVP. It depends heavily on the extent of the product, if it needs to include a full backend infrastructure for web as well as mobile, the design elements it includes, and the number of team members collaborating on the project. The goal of every MVP is to fulfil its purpose in the most basic, effective way possible. Our objective is to build MVPs that help you test your business application idea and determine whether it’s worth building a more advanced and complete version.
